WACA in conversation with NSW Supreme Court Solicitor Peter Kemp

Below is the complete 3 part conversation Sam Castro and Kaz Cochrane from WACA held with NSW Supreme Court Solicitor Peter Kemp. We are citizen activists and citizen journalists, finding our way on this journey and learning what works and what does not.  So we apologise in advanced for the poor framing as we went into battle with our Skype recording technology.

However we hope and trust that our supporters and viewers will see past this visual hiccup and take the time to listen to what Peter Kemp has to say. WACA believes that the only way to change the current status quo is for individuals to enter the public discourse and start telling their own stories.  As we share our truths with each other perhaps we shall discover that we are not alone and that we do not have to accept or rely on the ‘official’ media releases of politicians, that are dutifully recorded and disseminated into the dominant cultural discourse by sanctioned ‘news and media outlets’.

For us the idea of participatory democracy requires us to step forward, be willing to engage and dig deeper in the hope of transforming and evolving our own societies from democracy in name to democracy in practise.

That is the revelation and the revolution that Julian Assange and Wikileaks have placed before all of us.

The questions is – are you ready to engage?
